Dress For Success
So, you’ve scheduled your engagement session but you don’t have a thing to wear!! We love it when couples dress for success when it comes to their lovie-dovie picture taking marathon. You don’t have to be all matchy-matchy. If you can take the time to make sure that your outfits “go” together then you are sure to have an awesome return on your first kissy-kissy paparazzi shoot.
What kind of feel are you looking for? Bright and cheery or bold and moody? If you want to wear a bright pink dress, you can choose a different color for your hunny bunny if he’s uncomfortable in pastels. We just recommend that the colors don’t clash. For example, you probably wouldn’t want to do a spring pastel pink with a fall burnt orange color. The only kind of hot that is going to look like is the hot-mess kind.
Dress For Your Body Type
If you are self conscious of any part of your body, dress for success in your clothing choices. Choose flattering pieces that make you feel like the beautiful person that you are.
I, personally, am a little self conscious of my arms. If I’m going to get photos taken then I will make sure that my shirt has sleeves. Here are a few clothing tips for body types:
- Are you well endowed upstairs? Do you have high cleavage? If your cleavage is a little more than you would like to show the world, cover those tatas up with a little cardigan or wear a higher cut blouse or dress.
- Is there too much junk in the trunk? If your heineken is one of your trouble spots, A-Line dresses are fabulous at hiding your derrière!
- If you aren’t in love with your legs or just don’t feel like shaving (come on, let’s be real), you can wear a long skirt, dress pants, or even cute jeans with a nice top.
- Do you have armpit rolls? If your arms are a sore subject, wear a cute little pull over or cardigan.
Are you planning on wearing a fancy-ish dress? Make sure your hunny bunny is set to match your level of fanciness. Often, I see photos where people are mix-matched on their level of formality and it just looks awkward.
If you’re wearing a fancy dress, have your guy wear slacks and a nice dress shirt- not khaki shorts and a polo. Some guys don’t like to get all dressed up, and that’s OK. If your hunny bunny refuses to get all gussied up, then maybe you could meet him half way and tone down the fancy just a little bit. Your pictures will turn out for the better, trust me!
That’s A Wrap
Picking out clothes is not rocket science. When it comes to fashion sense, not all of us have been blessed with the gifts of a fashionista. If you are really struggling with this, you can go to Pinterest and search fashion ideas to inspire you. Dress for success, make sure you “go,” and just be the same level of fancy. You can bet that your shoot will be so much fun and will give you the photos you are hoping for when you put a little effort into your clothing choices.
